1. Eligibility

You must be a U.S. resident, 18 years of age or older, to use our services.

2. Description of Service

Ask Helping Hand provides a free information and referral service. A team members listen to your situation and identify federal programs (SNAP, LIHEAP, Section 8, ACA, Medicaid, etc.), local food banks, and verified hotlines that match your needs. We then send you the relevant phone numbers and guidance on what to ask when you call those programs yourself.

  • Represent or speak for any government, state, or 501(c)(3) agency we refer to
  • Charge fees to the customers we serve

All communication with any government, state, or private agency must be done directly by you, and all documentation must be submitted directly by you to that agency.

4. Callback Submissions

By submitting a callback request, you certify that the information you provide is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge. Inaccurate information may result in less useful referrals; it does not affect approval to any third-party program (we do not approve anyone for anything).

We are not a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and not affiliated with any government agency including HUD, USDA, HHS, the Department of Education, Medicare/Medicaid services, or any state social services department.
